Position: Registered Midwife

Role Summary:
As a Midwife at SEHA, you will provide autonomous, holistic care to women throughout the pregnancy continuum: antenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum. You will promote normal birth, provide health education, and support the physical and emotional well-being of mothers and newborns. Your shared language and cultural understanding with Tagalog-speaking mothers will create a trusting and supportive birthing experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide antenatal care, including examinations, screenings, and parenting education in Tagalog and English.
- Monitor labor, provide continuous support, and manage normal deliveries independently.
- Identify deviations from the normal and refer to obstetricians when necessary.
- Provide immediate care to the newborn after birth.
- Support breastfeeding initiation and provide comprehensive postpartum care and education for the mother and family.
- Conduct home visits or follow-up clinic care as required.
- Advocate for the mother's choices and provide culturally sensitive care.
- Perform women's health screenings and family planning education.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid Midwifery license/registration from country of origin.
- Recognized Midwifery qualification (Post-Graduate Diploma or Bachelor's in Midwifery).
- Minimum 3 years of full-scope midwifery experience in a hospital setting.
- Fluency in Tagalog and English is mandatory.
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) and BLS certifications.
- Demonstrated ability to manage normal labour and birth autonomously.
- Deep commitment to women-centered care, empowerment, and cultural competence.
